Global Agency Secures Worldwide Distribution for Uprising Kitchen
Global agency has acquired international rights to award-winning Japanese show Uprising Kitchen. The Global Agency and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation (YTV) have signed an agreement for the cooking game show. By: Wee Yan Ling
Uprising Kitchen has been nominated for the Content Asia Awards 2023 and have emerged with the silver award. It is a captivating and entertaining culinary competition among a seasoned chef, homemaker and a novice as they compete one another to create the ultimate dish. To level the playing field, each participant is met with unique challenges.
The novice chef is granted a generous budget for ingredients, the homemaker receives a moderate allowance and the master chef must make do with a limited budget. The unequal distribution of funds is meant to create a fair and exciting competition to contribute to the show’s blend of amusement, frustration and creativity. Adding to the intrigue, the master chef is confined within a small workspace whereas the other contestants are granted a bigger space to work with. The contestants also get to draw challenge cards from a lottery machine to set their competitors up with obstacles.
The show offers a new twist for cooking shoes by casting a group of individuals who possess different levels of capabilities for cooking. Hence, creating an interesting dynamic and enhancing the show’s value. As the show is centred around food, it is bound to pique everyone’s interest.
