The eight seasons of House land on Hulu this week. A trending medical drama comedy which showcases Hugh Laurie as a sarcastic yet brilliant chief of diagnostic medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. By: Dylan Low
Up to 177 episodes of House will launch on Hulu this week and be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. The series originally broadcasted on Fox from 2004 to 2012. Produced by David Shore, the cast consists of Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard, Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer, Peter Jacobson, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable and Charlyne Yi.
The franchise’s title is comparable to that of Sherlock Holmes, with Dr House, a medical detective who utilises inductive reasoning to diagnose perplexing diseases, in the same style as Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic Holmes character.
The show entails Dr Gregory House lacking in communication skills with his patients, and does not speak with his parents if possible. Tackling his ongoing physical pain, he makes use of a cane that disrupts his acerbic, brutally honest demeanor. While his behaviour may appear antisocial, he is a talented diagnostician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts provide him a widespread reputation. Specialising in curing infectious diseases, House does well to tackle the challenge of solving medical puzzles to save lives.
House has achieved five Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards, a Peabody Award and nine People’s Choice Awards. It was produced by Heel and Toe Films, Shore Z Productions, Bad Hat Harry Productions and Universal Television.
