Singaporean Film Wonderland, to Debut at 24th San Diego Asian Film Festival
Mark Lee takes center stage in the eagerly anticipated Singaporean film Wonderland, set to make its global premiere at the 24th San Diego Asian Film Festival on November 8. By: Wee Yan Ling
Wonderland is directed by the award-winning filmmaker Chai Yee Wei and produced by Mocha Chai Laboratories and mm2 Entertainment. The film is part of the Asia Pop! Section as it shares the spotlight with distinguished films from Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and Japan.
The poignant tale tells the story of Loke (Mark Lee) a devoted single father who strives his best to provide the best education for his daughter, Eileen (Xenia Tan). The emotional film narrates the story of Loke weaving a web of lies to his daughter in order to convince her to pursue her studies in New York City despite the lack of funds and him having to move to a one room apartment.
The narrative further expands as Loke's newfound friend, played by Peter Yu, grapples with distressing news about Eileen, adding layers of complexity to this emotionally charged storyline.
