These actors have made noteworthy contributions to the Thai entertainment industry by portraying LGBTQ+ characters with sensitivity and authenticity. They have also used their platforms to raise awareness about important issues affecting the community.
Gun Korawit Boonsari
The Thai singer, model and film actor, Korawit Boonsari is 31 and has become popular in past years with his role in Green in 2gether: The Series, Cherry in Sotus S and Cholly in U-Prince: The Series. These dramas include the ‘Boy’s Love’ (BL) genre, where he is featured in supporting role. His success is demonstrated in his net worth, earning above US$1 million through his stint as actor since 2012.
He has disclosed his gay lifestyle in real life, alongside with his boyfriend Pea. They own a YouTube channel called GunPea, where they post content doing Mukkbangs and enjoy meals together. He is also known for his activism in the LGBTQ+ community, advocating for equal rights and visibility for all.
Fluke Natouch Siripongthon
Fluke is a popular 27-year-old Thai actor born in Lamphun, Thailand. Fluke graduated from Dirakji Pundit University where he studied English at the Faculty of Arts. Like Gun, he has openly declared his gay charisma.
Fluke has portrayed many LGBTQ+ roles, with his most popular show being Green Fictions, a 2013 movie that was filmed in Chiang Rai. His other film is Bromance, where he plays the role of a young man in love with his stepfather’s son. He’s also featured in other LGBTQ+ films including Ghost Ship. Through these BL dramas and films, Siripongthon rose to fame quickly, earning a staggering US$5 million.
Porsch Apiwat Apiwatsayree
At 48, Porsch is a veteran actor who was previously a flight attendant, and Youtuber in his own time. He graduated from the Thammasat University in Bangkok. His portrayal as Dr Bright in the TV drama Together with Me, The Next Chapter in 2017 and 2018 respectively. These Thai BL dramas attracted many new fans which led to his success. At present, he is worth US$2 million.
He has proposed to his long-time boyfriend, Arm Sappanyoo Panatkool in 2014 and engaged several months later. They now run a YouTube channel where they document their daily lives as a couple. In a podcast, Porsch mentioned they both work as flight attendants but he will continues acting as well. He is also known for his support of the LGBTQ+ community, often using his platform to raise awareness about important issues.
