Her life took a dramatic turn which the tabloids and paparazzi closely monitored and labelled as a tumultuous episode. Having gained notoriety for shaving her head which was captured by the paparazzi, she confronted them with an umbrella and was subsequently placed under a conservatorship that rendered her incapable of gaining control over her life as her decisions in her financial and estate affairs and decisions as a person are left to be dictated by her father.

Her conservatorship has imposed on her life considerably and the singer has broken the silence by revealing some of the bizarre ordeals she underwent. She shared that she was not able to get her IUD removed as her conservators won’t allow her to make the necessary doctor’s appointment for the removal. Due to the fact that “because they don’t want [her] to have any more children.”

She compared her conservatorship to sex trafficking due to the restrictions that were imposed upon her. She said she was under 24-hour surveillance and had no privacy even when getting changed. Failure in her presence to meetings or work would deprive her of seeing her sons and boyfriend.

It took 13 years and a worldwide #FreeBritney social media movement to put a cease to the controversial conservatorship.

Instagram shenanigans of Britney

Spears also caused her fans to worry after posting a fair share of bizarre videos on her Instagram account. Fans have called her out for her ‘troubling’ to ‘completely unhinged’ content accompanied with captions referred to as rushed and erratic.

In her videos, Spears is seen dancing around her home, in an erratic manner telling stories in various accents and occasionally bursting into tears.

Fans have devised theories due to how regularly Spears deletes her account and goes for months without being in the public eye. Some suggested she is being held captive while others said she is missing, has died or been replaced by a clone.

All the theories have been dismissed after Spears’ social media manager asserted that, “Britney is not ‘asking for help’ or leaving secret messages in her social media. She is literally just living her life and trying to have fun on Instagram.”

Re-release of Crossroads

Britney is bringing her movie, Crossroads back into the theatres after its original release in 2002. It was released in honour of Britney’s highly anticipated memoir. Britney Spears is poised to benefit from the re-release of her film as her costly divorce proceedings approach.

Her memoir The Woman In Me will be released on 24 October and will be “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope”, according to a press release from Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. The memoir will cover her public life, her rapid ascent to stardom and the obstacles she met. Notably, this book delves into the 13-year conservatorship she was thrust into orchestrated by her father. It was reported last year that her book deal is worth as much as $15 million.
