Its incredible film success has even led to it becoming the highest grossing concert film of all time, breaking prior box office records. With the film screening, it mainly appeals to the “Swiftie” fans through its captivating narrative and the American singer’s charismatic performances.

Renaissance: A film by Beyoncé entails the process and execution of Beyoncé’s 2023 Renaissance stadium tour. The film has been attributed with up close behind-the-scenes moments, Beyoncé’s stage presence, and exceptional singing performance. The concert footage, which garnered worldwide acclaim even by critics, also shows Beyoncé’s personal life and interactions with her loved ones.

The demand for concert films has shown that audiences want to know more about their favourite stars – what they do in their personal lives and backstage lead-up to their breathtaking performances. The trend has become increasingly popular, as it’s not only these two mainstream stars that have garnered success. The repeated screening of Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense has also performed well at the box office, generating over US$1 million despite the band being inactive from touring for around forty years.

Appeal for these films can be widely recognised, as fans who were unable to acquire concert tickets are still free to watch their celebrities perform. With concert prices hiking as well, more people may decide to watch concert films as they are both cheaper and convenient.

With the current trend showcasing the prominence of concert films, only time will tell if it lasts for an extended period of time. Nonetheless, there is undoubtedly a market demand and potential for these films to succeed, especially in our current society.
