The release of a Shah Rukh Khan movie is akin to a grand celebration proven by its packed theatre at a 6am screening. SRK’s Jawan takes things up a notch with an action-packed film with heightened drama. The writer-director, Atlee, portrays Khan as a fresh persona - rugged, resilient and full of grit while retaining his trademark wit.

Atlee stirs excitement and joy within his audiences by weaving all the elements of a commercial cinema to build a massy entertainer. The show breaks the limits of any set templates or tropes and is an amalgamation of everything engaging and entertaining.

Be it commercial, action, drama, song or even romance, Jawan has it all. The 3-hour long movie narrates the tale of existing corruption at varying levels in the system that affects the citizens in the most brutal ways.

Jawan touches on the topic of bribery in the healthcare system and the depressing state of government hospitals. It tells the story of Narmada, the head of Force One is looking for Vikram Rathore who endangered the lives of 376 passengers while executing the perfect hijack. The second unfolds the love story between Narmada and Azad Rathore.

The non-chronological narrative opens in the present day and advances 30 years ahead, utilising flashbacks to unfold the whys and hows of the story.

The triumph of Jawan is attributed to its ability to balance the personal, political and social statements.

The exemplary and intricately choreographed action renders a beautiful cinematic experience that traps viewers eyeballs to the screen.

The screenplay written by Atlee and S. Ramanagirivasan is both riveting and gripping and is proven through its enthralling movie that would keep you engaged without any dull moments.
