Description

Maestro takes the audiences through a symphonic journey as Bradley Cooper redefines the biopic genre with his latest film.

Maestro brings audiences into an emotional ride of Leonard Bernstein, the renowned composer and conductor. You will be in for a ride as you navigate the intricate tapestry of Bernstein’s life journey as the narrative delves into the marriage forged between Chilean-Costa Rican actress Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan.

The film conveys the compelling yet painful tale of the aged Bernstein as he looked back on his life after his wife had passed on. The film flawlessly trudges across the stages of the life of Bernstein as it delves into the nuances and complications of his relationships, as well as the ordeals that he encountered in order to steer his way through his authentic desires despite being constrained with what the society deems as normal.

The visual storytelling is beautiful. From the aged Bernstein lamenting the ghostly presence of his black-and-white to the vibrant hues of the Connecticut estate, the film skillfully transitions from black-and-white and full-colour sequences to accentuate the passage of time as well as the progression of Bernstein’s emotional landscape.

The film takes a raw and authentic approach in portraying Bernstein’s sexuality as the main character tread carefully within the confines of the hereronormative structures. The film brings the audience down a trip into the past as it showcases the tensions within the Bernstein family, as well as his struggles with the truth.

Bradley Cooper proficiently orchestrated a symphony of passion and pain, redefining the biopic genre with his intricate storytelling and aesthetically pleasing cinematography.
