Review: The Good Bad Mother episode 1

If you're looking for a powerful and emotional series that will leave you on the edge of your seat, do check out Netflix's “The Good Bad Mother”. With its gripping storyline and talented cast, this is a must-watch show that will leave a lasting impact.

Story: A single mother, who works as a pig farmer, raised her son in a strict and disciplined manner, with the hope of giving him a better future. As a result, the son becomes a successful prosecutor, but his relationship with his mother becomes strained due to his cold demeanor. However, after a life-changing accident forces him to return to his childhood home, the two are presented with an opportunity to reconcile their differences and mend their relationship.

Cast: The show is directed by Na-Yeon Shim and written by Se-yeong Bae and features the cast of Ra Mi-ran, Lee Do-Hyun and Eun-Jin Ahn.

Review of Ep 1: "The Good Bad Mother" episode 1 starts with a poignant commentary on the exploitation of pigs and how it affects their lives. The show then introduces us to Young-soon, a delivery woman, and her love interest, Hae-sik, who proposes to her with a piglet. The episode takes a dark turn when the couple's farm is set on fire by a corrupt businessman, leading to Hae-sik's staged murder as a suicide. Young-soon moves to a new village with her surviving pig to start a new life.

The first episode of "The Good Bad Mother" packs a punch with its emotional storytelling and strong performances. The backstory of Kang-ho's life and the circumstances of his family give a unique perspective and make us root for the characters. The show tackles serious issues like corruption, exploitation, and family relationships.

While the episode is devastating and heavy to process, it does a great job of pulling the audience in and setting up for future episodes. It will be interesting to see how Young-soon and Kang-ho's relationship develops and if Kang-ho takes revenge against Woo-byeok. The first episode leaves the audience wanting more and hoping for a brighter future for the characters.

Overall, if the first episode is anything to go by, "The Good Bad Mother" appears to be a must-watch for anyone looking for a show that tugs at the heartstrings and deals with complex themes. The series is currently streaming on Netflix, and I highly recommend it.
