Long Lost The Beatles Documentary and New Celine Dion Documentary Get Announced

Disney has announced a restoration of the long lost The Beatles documentary Let It Be, while Amazon MGM Studios recently revealed the first look at I Am: Celine Dion. By: Kritchanon Tan Kian Wei

US - After being unavailable to the public for over four decades, the documentary Let It Be, based on the famed music act The Beatles, will be restored with new footage, landing exclusively on Disney+. Additionally, Amazon MGM Studios has shown a first look at I Am: Celine Dion, a brand new documentary based on the legendary vocalist.

Restored from the original 16mm negative by Park Road Post Production, Let it Be will also feature footage not featured in The Beatles: Get Back, a 3-part docuseries that was released on Disney+ in 2021. Originally released in May 1970, not long after the band split in April 1970, Let It Be has not officially been in circulation since the 1980s, making this the film’s first official re-appearance in at least 40 years after several abandoned restoration efforts in the 1990s and 2000s. The news comes after it was recently announced in February that director Sam Mendes would be making four The Beatles movies based on each member of the group. The Beatles, which consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, was an English rock band best known for songs like Yesterday, Let It Be, and Here Comes The Sun.

Meanwhile, after a January 2024 announcement, Amazon MGM Studios and Celine Dion have revealed the release date and a first look at I Am: Celine Dion, which is directed by Oscar nominee Irene Taylor and will “highlight the music that has guided [Dion’s] life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.” Dion is best known for the song My Heart Will Go On, from the soundtrack of director James Cameron’s Titanic (1997).

Let It Be will make its re-debut May 8 on Disney+, while I Am: Celine Dion arrives on Prime Video on June 25.
