Sandbox Launches New Kids’ Channel with Scheduled Programming in U.K. & Ireland

Newly launched in the U.K. and Ireland, the PlayKids TV FAST channel offers scheduled educational programming for children throughout the day. By Ching Wai.

Europe - Sandbox Group, a UK-based edtech company, has launched the new free PlayKids TV FAST channel on Netgem TV in the U.K. and Ireland. The telecom Netgem’s internet service provider (ISP) partners TalkTalkTV, Community Fibre TV and Better TV have already started distributing the channel, offering families in the U.K. and Ireland scheduled educational entertainment such as programmes for morning routines, afternoon play, and bedtime.

Such scheduled programming will help children get used to a routined day. Comfortable, relaxing stories and original songs like Let’s Get Ready guide children through their mornings. Afternoon content includes arts and craft programmes, shows that teach nice play, and songs about animals. Evening programmes help children settle down for the day with stories and bedtime songs.

Existing programmes on the PlayKids TV FAST channel include 20 hours of affiliated Sandbox companies’ original content and licensed titles like Talking Tom & Friends, Earth to Luna and The Hive. Acquisition of rights to more content is expected.
