BBC Studios Productions Australia Welcomes Former Fremantle Australia Head

Lexi Landsman joins BBC Studios Productions Australia as the development executive for unscripted. By Ching Wai.

Australia - BBC Studios Productions Australia has named Lexi Landsman the development executive for unscripted. Landsman will be a part of the team developing formats and originals for factual, entertainment and reality.

The new executive, being responsible for the unscripted division of BBC Studios Productions Australia, will oversee projects like Top Gear Australia for Paramount+, Dancing With the Stars for Seven Network, and Mastermind for SBS. The hit quiz show The 1% Club - that currently has its second series airing on Seven Network and has received a commission for a third series - as well as season eight of The Great Australian Bake Off  premiering on Lifestyle/Binge later this year are under Landsman and her team too.

Previously, Landsman had been the head of development for unscripted at Fremantle Australia, and a former senior development producer at ITV Studios.

“Lexi is an accomplished and experienced television executive with an in-depth knowledge of the global unscripted marketplace and a proven track record of adapting and refreshing existing formats as well as developing original programs, and I’m delighted that she is joining the team. Our unscripted business has gone from strength to strength under Deb’s leadership and now is the right time to further bolster the team to continue our growth,” Kylie Washington, general manager and creative director at BBC Studios Productions Australia, said.

Landsman said, “I am thrilled to be joining the BBC Studios team, who have grown exponentially over the past five and a half years, with the creation of 600 hours of television. I look forward to working with Deb [Spinocchia] and Kylie, and continuing their expansion of the unscripted slate of innovative and bold ideas, spanning factual, reality and entertainment.”
