New CEO for Carrousel Studios

Cécile Gaget has been appointed CEO at Carrousel Studios, effective 1 May 2024. By Ching Wai.

Europe - Cécile Gaget has been named the new CEO of Carrousel Studios, a European independent studio and media company launched in March 2024. The appointment is effective from 1 May this year, and Gadget will be based in Paris.

The Wild Bunch alum will help expand and grow Carrousel Studios, taking charge of development, production, financing and distribution strategies to build the local and global production slate and forge strategic partnerships.

Previously, Gaget had served as head of international production and distribution at the French film studio Gaumont for over 10 years. She was also president of international production and distribution at Anton before leading the Wild Bunch group as head of film. Her experience and expertise in sales and film finance will therefore be advantageous as she steps into her new role at Carrousel.

Gaget said of the appointment, “I am very grateful to Omar, Louis and Thomas for their trust in my abilities to help build and lead this studio to its fullest potential. I’m thrilled to embark on this journey with Carrousel Studios, united by a shared vision and a collective drive to create and produce high-end and bold content for a global audience.”

Carrousel Studios was launched by actor Omar Sy, Lupin and Fast X director Louis Leterrier, and Thomas Benski, former Pulse Films CEO. The company focuses on producing commercial films and TV series for a global audience, specialising in genres like action, thriller, sci-fi, fantasy and comedy.
