Ariana Grande Address the Quiet on Set Docuseries

Although Ariana did not participate in Quiet on Set, the singer/actress has now spoken out on Penn Badgley’s podcast Pod crushed. “Clearly, my perspective on [child acting] is evolving and evolving fast. I’m reflecting a lot on what those years were like,” she shared.

US - Ariana Grande recently spoke out about the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries, which exposed the vulnerability of child actors. Although she didn’t participate in the series, she reflected on her own experiences during an appearance on Penn Badgley’s podcast, Pod crushed.

Grande emphasised the need for a safer environment for child actors. She believes that there should be therapists available and parents allowed to be wherever they want to be on set. Contracts for child stars should also focus on safety and protection.

She expressed concern about children being exploited. She mentioned a pattern where young performers are taken advantage of, especially when seeking approval or laughs from the crew. She also acknowledged that she and her co-star, Jennette McCurdy, were often put in situations with underlying sexual innuendo.

Looking ahead, Grande hopes the industry will provide medical professionals to support actors’ mental health and offer guidance during life-changing situations.

It’s commendable that Ariana Grande is using her platform to address these important issues and advocate for positive changes in the entertainment industry.
