Meet THOSE ABOUT TO DIE at NATPE Budapest

International distributor Eccho Rights will bring Those About to Die, the forthcoming epic period drama starring Anthony Hopkins, to NATPE Budapest. The 10×60-minute Peacock original is produced by AGC Studios, High End Productions, Street Entertainment, Hollywood Gang and Centropolis Entertainment.

Stockholm - THOSE ABOUT TO DIE, the forthcoming epic period drama starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, will be available to buyers at NATPE Budapest from international distributor Eccho Rights.

The title, directed by Hollywood legend Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) is a Peacock Original, the streamer’s biggest budget production to date. Eccho Rights is handling first window sales throughout Central and Eastern Europe, as well as second windows in various Western European territories.

“This is a landmark series, and both in front of and behind the camera, we have a team of extraordinary talent and experience, making this a unique opportunity for buyers looking to bring Hollywood-scale production to their viewers,” says Herbert L. Kloiber, CEO of Eccho Rights.

Alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins, the series stars Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Tom Hughes (The English), Sara Martins (Death in Paradise), Jojo Macari (Sex Education), Moe Hashim (Ted Lasso) and Dimitri Leonidas (Riviera).

Produced by AGC Studios, High End Productions, Street Entertainment, Hollywood Gang and Centropolis Entertainment, THOSE ABOUT TO DIE is created by Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan) who wrote five of the episodes. Emmerich directs five episodes, with BAFTA-winning Marco Kreuzpaintner (The Lazarus Project) also directing five.

THOSE ABOUT TO DIE (10 x 60’) takes us to Rome, 79 AD. Heirs to the empire Titus (Hughes) and Domitian (Macari) are vying for the throne soon to be vacated by their elderly father Vespasian (Hopkins). As tensions mount, everyone’s fates hinge on the intense races and deadly games at the Circus Maximus and Flavian Amphitheatre, where the scheming and corrupt bookmaker Tenax (Rheon), holds sway over Rome’s future.

Executive producers on the series are Emmerich, Harald Kloser (2012), Gianni Nunnari (300); Herbert G. Kloiber, Martin Moszkowicz, Oliver Berben, and Jonas Bauer for High End Productions; Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, Charles Holland and Miguel A. Palos Jr. for AGC Studios; Marco Kreuzpaintner, Robert Rodat and Namit Malhotra.
