Red Sea Film Foundation CEO Mohammed Al-Turki Steps Down

Mohammed Al-Turki will focus on personal projects and career as a film producer, and will continue as advisor to Foundation.

Middle East - Saudi producer Mohammed Al-Turki is stepping down as CEO of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Foundation, the parent organisation of Saudi’s top film festival. The foundation plays a crucial role in building the kingdom’s film and TV industry. Al-Turki, who will continue as an adviser, plans to focus on personal projects and his career as an independent film producer and businessman.

During the transition, former board member Mohammed Asseri will serve as the foundation’s acting CEO. The recent Cannes Film Festival featured Saudi Arabia’s first movie in its official selection, Norah, a drama set in 1990s Saudi Arabia. Al-Turki expressed gratitude for his role in advancing Saudi cinema and looks forward to the foundation’s continued success.

The fourth edition of Saudi’s Red Sea International Film Festival is scheduled for December 5-14 in Jeddah.
