Investigation Discovery (ID) is revving up for a second season of the heart-pounding series High Speed Chase after the show's debut in July captured the attention of over 5.8 million viewers. By: Syahmi Zulqarnain
Crafted by Arrow Media, the series thrusts viewers into the driver's seat of high-stakes police pursuits through exclusive, never-before-seen footage. Season one culminated with intense scenarios, one involving a man who shoots two officers before embarking on a vehicle chase while towing a boat, and another where two robbery suspects evade capture in a U-Haul truck.
High Speed Chase has marked its place as ID's third most-watched freshman series of 2023 among adults aged 25 to 54. The show's fusion of riveting police chase footage and compelling firsthand accounts has propelled it to success, contributing to ID's status as the top ad-supported cable network (excluding sports) in terms of total day viewership among women aged 25 to 54 for the last four consecutive months.
Jason Sarlanis, President of Turner Networks, ID, and HLN, expressed enthusiasm for the show's impact: "The show's mix of shocking police chase footage and compelling witness testimony delivered incredibly engaging content that helped propel ID to be the number one ad-supported cable network, excluding sports, in total day with women 25 to 54 for the past four consecutive months."
High Speed Chase joins the ranks of ID's successful track record of renowned series like The Playboy Murders, Death by Fame, and Murder Under the Friday Night Lights. As the show prepares for its next season, viewers can anticipate even more adrenaline-fueled action and suspense.
