Moving Becomes the Most Viewed Korean Original Series Across Disney and Hulu+

Since its launch on August 9, the star-studded Korean series has been breaking viewership and streaming records, captivating viewers with its gripping plotline and must-see action sequences. By: Theng Min Yee

Singapore – Boasting themes of international espionage, superhuman operatives, and lethal assassins, the Korean drama sensation Moving has swiftly gained worldwide attention, emerging as the most-watched Korean original series on Disney+ globally and Hulu in the U.S., measured by hours streamed within the first 7 days.

The series has marked its debut week with impressive accomplishments. Notably, Moving has secured the top position as the most-watched series on Disney+ throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, encompassing Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan (based on hours watched). In Korea, it also achieved the distinction of being the largest premiere on Disney+ to date, gauged by hours streamed within the first week following its launch. Moving was made available globally across 65 markets and countries on Disney+ and on Hulu in the U.S.

Featuring prominent figures from the Korean entertainment industry, including Ryu Seungryong, Han Hyojoo, and Zo Insung in his anticipated return to a drama series, Moving delves into the tale of a team of South Korean secret agents endeavouring to safeguard their offspring possessing extraordinary powers from malevolent government organizations. Originally recruited for their exceptional abilities like flight, rapid healing, and heightened senses, these agents vanished without a trace after being tasked with increasingly dubious missions. With their own children now displaying similar powers and a lethal assassin systematically eliminating super-powered individuals, the agents-turned-parents must abandon their tranquil lives to embrace their former identities as "monsters."

The series has garnered praise from various quarters, with Forbes lauding it as "a superhero narrative with emotional depth," and Max Movie describing it as a "refreshingly distinct hero saga."

Audiences can currently access the first 11 episodes of Moving, with two new episodes releasing each Wednesday and a three-part finale set for September 20.
