Ember and Wade Head to Disney+

In a recent announcement, Disney+ unveiled that the dynamic duo, Ember and Wade, from Disney and Pixar's hit film Elemental, are set to make their debut on the streaming platform next week. The original feature film is scheduled to start streaming on Disney+ from September. Alongside the film, viewers can also look forward to the release of the making-of documentary Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental and Pixar Animation Studios' short film Carl's Date, featuring the beloved talking dog, Dug.

Elemental, which hit theatres this summer, ranks among the top-grossing films of 2023, earning an impressive $480 million at the global box office. The story unfolds in Element City, a vibrant metropolis where residents of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air coexist. The film introduces Ember (voiced by Leah Lewis) and her unconventional friendship with the easy-going Wade (voiced by Mamoudou Athie), challenging her perceptions of their world. Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, and executive produced by Pete Docter, Elemental boasts a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh, with a story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel, and Hsueh.

The making-of documentary Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental provides a light-hearted and personal journey through the creative process behind Disney and Pixar's feature film Elemental. Directed by Tony Kaplan and produced by Sureena Mann, the documentary delves into the unexpected influences that shaped the comedy-adventure Elemental, including Pixar director Peter Sohn's family history and his unconventional career path in animation.

Other releases include Carl's Date, a short film written and directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bob Peterson, and produced by Kim Collins. The film follows Carl as he reluctantly embarks on a date, navigating the complexities of modern dating. With Dug by his side, offering canine-friendly tips for making friends, the short adds a delightful twist to the tale. This new short join the lineup in front of Elemental during its theatrical release on June 16 and is part of the existing collection of shorts.
