The Drum Studios exec will take helm as Head of Production in BBC Studios' Specialist Factual Division. By: Theng Min Yee
BBC Studios (BBCS) has welcomed Elanor Lee to lead production efforts at its newly established specialist factual arm, overseen by industry veteran Alan Holland.
Last month, BBCS inaugurated a specialised factual productions unit under Holland's guidance within its factual division. This unit is dedicated to crafting content centred around subjects like history, arts, music, and culture, with a focus on factual programming. The team is already hard at work developing a lineup of commissions for both the BBC and external partners.
Lee brings an impressive 25-year career to her new role, having held positions as head of production, production executive, and line producer. Her extensive experience spans various specialist factual, documentary, and current affairs productions, often in collaboration with renowned partners such as BBC, Nat Geo, Netflix, Sky, ITV, and Channel 4.
Most recently, Lee served as head of production at Drum Studios. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with several other independent production companies, including Studio Ramsey, Pulse Films, and Curious Films.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Lee stated, "I admire the teams’ commitment to producing thought-provoking and high-quality programmes and I’m excited to be part of such a well-regarded team with a commitment to create a truly diverse and inclusive production environment."
With Lee's appointment, the leadership team is now complete, with Holland at the helm, Abigail Priddle serving as creative director, and Suzanne McKenna leading the commercial and business development efforts. This accomplished team is poised to steer the specialist factual arm towards creating engaging and inclusive content in the times ahead.
