Paramount Commissioner Daniel Pearl Takes Helm as Creative Director at Lion TV

Renowned factual producer Lion TV has welcomed Daniel Pearl, formerly a commissioning editor at Paramount+ and Channel 5, as their new Creative Director. By: Theng Min Yee

Pearl’s arrival at Lion TV follows the departure of former Creative Director Tom Watt-Smith in April, who transitioned to Nutopia to spearhead creative endeavours in formats and special projects.

Pearl's tenure at Paramount+ and Channel 5 was marked by significant contributions, including acclaimed projects like Neverland: Michael Jackson & Me and the hit series Our Yorkshire Farm.

Pearl's extensive career encompasses pivotal roles such as Editor of Channel 4's Dispatches strand and Deputy Editor at the BBC for iconic programs like Panorama, Newsnight, and Ten O’clock News. He also played a pivotal role as Editor of the BBC's inaugural Prime Ministerial debate.

Richard Bradley, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Lion Television, commended Pearl's exemplary track record in unscripted programming, emphasising his remarkable editorial prowess and creative acumen.

Kate Little and Claire Poyser, Joint Managing Directors of Lime Pictures and Lion Television, expressed their excitement at having Daniel Pearl join the Lion TV team. They hailed him as a profoundly talented and highly regarded creative professional, possessing a wealth of experience in both commissioning, and producing. They eagerly anticipate the collaborative efforts between Pearl, Richard, and the entire team.

Pearl's appointment augurs well for Lion TV, as the company continues its pursuit of producing high-quality factual content under his experienced leadership. With his illustrious background and proven expertise, Daniel Pearl is poised to guide Lion TV towards even greater heights in the world of factual television.
