Disney+ APAC Originals Triumph with Eight Awards, including Best Lead Actor, Best Writer, and Prestigious Best Creative Award at Busan International Film Festival. By: Wee Yan Ling

SINGAPORE – Disney+ APAC Originals received eight awards at the 2023 Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards ceremony, hosted at the Busan International Film Festival. Hit Disney+ series Moving was presented with six awards, with Gannibal and Taiwan Crime Stories also being recognised at the 2023 Asia­­­ Content Awards & Global OTT Awards ceremony.

Moving has received a total of 6 awards, including the prestigious Best Creative Award which are given in honour of content that has attained the most notable achievements among the nominations as well as Best Visual Effects. Screenwriter Kangfull was honoured with the Best Writer award and their actors clinched titles such as Lead Actor, Best Newcomer Actor and Best Newcomer Actress.

Moving made headlines after it became the most viewed Korean original series across Disney+ and Hulu. The series has been praised for its daring narrative structure, dynamic action sequences and breathtaking storytelling. The series has received record breaking success since its debut, attaining the title of the most viewed series finale ever on Disney+

Gannibal star, Yuya Yagira was awarded with the Asian Excellence Award for his enchanting performance in the show. The series has enjoyed record breaking success as it rose to become the most watched locally produced original series on Disney+ in Japan. The show was recently renewed for a second season. 

Taiwan Crime Stories’ Hsueh Shih-Ling received the Best Supporting Actor. 

Held at the Busan International Film Festival, the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards celebrate the achievements of excellent content made for TV, OTT, and online platforms across Asia.
