Turkish Drama series Legacy and Redemption have found new international broadcasters following deals by distributor Eccho Rights. By: Wee Yan Ling
Legacy has been a long running hit series with its fourth season starting later this month. It has been picked up to air in Iraq (Kurdmax), Hungary (RTL Club) and Colombia (Caracol) taking total sales to more than 55 countries worldwide.
The series traces the journey of a grieving family dealing with the loss of a young mother, Kevser. Following her death, Seher vows to care for her nephew, Yusuf, who is living with uncle Yaman. Although sceptical of Seher, an unexpected romance blossoms as they aspire to create a new family for Yusuf.
Meanwhile, as Redemption enters its second season in Turkey after a successful first year, it will expand its viewership to Bosnia Herzegovina (Hayat) and North Macedonia (Kanal 5).
The series tells the story of Orhun, a successful businessman who was raised in a wealthy but loveless family. His sister, Nihan left home to commit in vo;lunterring work and is unreachable. Orhun decides to look for his sister and comes across a girl who has been trafficked. After realising her sister was poisoned and trafficked by Hira, Orhun devises an evil plan to avenge her sister and attempts to make Hira’s life a living hell.
