International Film Award Disney+ celebrates as its Korean originals, Moving and Big Bet, clinched multiple accolades, including Best Series, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Actor, adding to their impressive list of wins at the prestigious film festivals and awards ceremony. By: Wee Yan Ling
Disney+ originals, Moving and Big Bet had triumphantly claimed the top honour at the 59th Daejong International Film Award and has reaffirmed their position as standout productions in the realm of entertainment. The wins are composed of Best Series, Best Director in a Series, Best Actress in a Series and Best Actor in a Series.
Moving tells a riveting narrative delving into the lives of South Korean special agents who are working together to protect their super-powered children from the harm and exploitation of the hands of malicious government agencies. The series had attained the highly coveted Best Series award, with the star Han Hyojoo being named as the Best Actress in the series.
Big Bet tells the chronicles of Cha Moosik (Choi Minsik) who is a masterful manipulator with an insatiable hunger for power who sinks deeper into the criminal world to attain his goals. The lead actor, Choi Minsik was awarded the Best Actor in a Series and director Kang Yunsung took home the Best Director in a Series.
Collectively taking home the awards for Best Series, Best Director in a Series, Best Actress in a Series, and Best Actor in a Series, the recognitions follow a series of recent wins at Busan International Film Festival's Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards, the Seoul International Drama Awards, and the Blue Dragon Series Awards as well.
