Sony’s newly released film Napoleon, directed by Ridley Scott, has debuted on top of both the U.K. and Ireland box office with £5.2 million ($6.6 million), according to statistics from Comscore. By: Dylan Low
It was also revealed in their second weekend, Lionsgate production The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes went down a spot to second place, earning around £2.6 million for a total of £10.1 million. Disney’s Wish made their debut appearance in third position through earnings of £2.4 million.
In fourth place, it was Warner Bros.’ Saltburn which claimed the spot in their second week of screening, as they earned £572,728 for a total of £1.9 million. Ending off the top five was Disney’s latest production The Marvels that obtained £485,099 in its third week, accumulating up to £6.5 million.
Concert film Cliff Richard: The Blue Sapphire Tour 2023, made by Trafalgar Releasing, achieved sixth place with £329,826 in revenue. Universal’s 20th anniversary rescreening of Richard Curtis’ romantic comedy Love Actually made the charts at No. 10 with revenue of £104,728.
In the upcoming weekend, attention will be on another Trafalgar concert film by worldwide celebrity star Beyonce, titled Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce. Another concert film showcased would be Yoshiki: Under the Sky produced by Duff Media. The biggest release in the next week is CBeebies Christmas Panto 2023: Robin Hood, where Modern Films will be screening it in up to more than 300 locations.
