Adventurer Carly is set to captivate Western audiences with its broadcast scheduled to commence in 2024. By: Wee Yan Ling
DeAPlaneta Entertainment has entered a partnership with Fantawild Animation Inc., the powerhouse of Chinese animation known for its hit series such as Boonie Bears, Boonie Cubs, and Chicken Stew, among others. Thanks to this important deal, DeAPlaneta Entertainment will be the Licensing Agent and will manage all Media & Digital Rights of kids animated series Adventurer Carly in all Western territories: Europe, America (All of North, Central and South America), Sub-Saharan Africa and Oceania (Australia/New Zealand).
During MIP Junior in October, Adventure Carly amassed much attention as it emerged as the most-watched show in unique views among more than 600 titles of children and family content. The series has been scheduled for release in Western territories next year, and has already garnered a wide online following as it possesses more than a million followers on the official account and has racked up to 400 million views on Chinese social media platforms.
Adventure Carly is Fantawild’s first attempt into the action-adventure genre for children’s animation. It comprises 52 episodes, each episode lasting 13 minutes. The series narrates Carly, a fearless 14-year-old trained in wilderness survival and archaeology by her father Zag. When Zag mysteriously disappears, Carly and her friends embark on a journey across an ancient kingdom to locate her father.
Carlos Biern, Director of Distribution and Contents of DeAplaneta Kids & Family, has commented: "Bugsbot Ignition is exactly the kind of anime-style IP that DeAPlaneta Entertainment is currently betting on for Western territories: a local IP, with success in Asia, that has the potential to become a global brand. The quality and dynamism of its animation, as well as its action-packed duels and adventurous stories address also hot topics such as environmental awareness and human-machine interaction, ideal for engaging new digital audiences. Bugsbot Ignition has also a natural licensing potential thanks to its almost unlimited number of transforming bugs-shaped robots, which have already become hugely successful toys in several countries in Asia".
