Sound of Freedom Streams on Amazon Prime Video

Sound of Freedom heads to your home. The film made its theatrical debut in July, is now accessible on Prime Video after digital and physical releases in November and December. By: Dylan Low

Angel Studios, the Angel investor-supported studio behind the film, also offered an exclusive streaming window for the film on October 13th through the Angel Studios app, allowing for digital purchase on November 3rd.

DVDs and Blu-rays can be bought on November 14th at shop.angel.com, additionally at Walmart, Amazon, and other mainstream retailers, as digital rental (TVOD) will be made available on December 15th.

“The Angel Guild selected and made Sound of Freedom so successful theatrically. They decide what projects are green-lit and are presented to audiences,” Jared Geesey, chief distribution officer at Angel Studios, announced in a statement. “We are honoured to give them exclusive early access to this film prior to its wider release through the world’s leading digital platforms and retailers.”

This religious thriller was written and directed by Alejandro Monteverde, and references the true story of Tim Ballard, played by The Passion of the Christ actor Jim Caviezel, an ex-government agent who takes on a mission to save children from sex traffickers in Colombia. Mira Sorvino and Bill Camp join as co-stars in the film.

Sound of Freedom caused controversy during its initial premiere, with detractors faulting the film for embellishing the reality of child exploitation and backing QAnon conspiracy theories. Rolling Stone claimed Sound of Freedom as a “QAnon-tinged thriller,” one that is targeted to “appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”
