Godzilla X Kong’s filmmaker Adam Wingard takes up the director’s chair once again, and reunites with the reprising ensemble cast Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle. Dan Stevens joins the franchise as a lead in The New Empire.
The prequels of the series include Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). In 2023, there were also two television entries into the franchise, Skull Island (2023) and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023) which landed on Netflix and AppleTV+ individually.
Based on Edward Ashton’s novel, Mickey 17 brings in Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. Bong narrates the screenplay of the gig.
