Nickelodeon has finally announced the release of the podcast’s third feature of the series for January 16. By: Cassia Ling
In a joint effort between Nickelodeon Podcasts and Paramount Audio, the podcast serves as a spinoff to Avatar franchise, with the other animated soap operas Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Hosts Janet Varney and Dante Basco, voiceovers of Korra and Prince Zuko individually, joins the ensemble cast for the second sequel in new podcast episodes.
Special guests who will make cameo appearances in the 40-episode spanning series includes: Jack De Sana, voice of Sokka; Grey DeLisle, voice of Azula; Michaela Jill Murphy, voice of Toph; Giancarlo Volpe, director of Avatar: The Last Airbender; Joaquim Dos Santos, director of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra and more. Original series and co-chief creative officers of Avatar Studios, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will also return to unveil more behind-the-scenes of the highly anticipated franchise.
The launch of the third instalment of the podcast will also mark its debut on YouTube, with episode snippets uploaded as YouTube Shorts. Nickelodeon has also mooted a premium subscription on Apple podcasts dubbed Avatar: BTE Premium. Apple subscribers will have precedence and ad-free viewing to the catalogue, with an exclusive bonus content as an add on. Subscription fees furcates into two packages, the $2.99 monthly subscription or $28.99 annually. As an effort to bring the beloved franchise to a wider audience, the podcast will also be released at other podcasting platforms for its fanatics.
