StarHub Secures Australian Open Rights

Singaporean pay TV platform StarHub has obtained the broadcasting rights for the Australian Open, the mainstream tennis tournament held annually in Melbourne. By: Dylan Low

The Australian Open, marking the first of four Grand Slams which takes place in 2024, will be screened live from January 14th to the 28th on StarHub. The tennis tournament featuring reigning champions Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka will be accessible through the StarHub Sports+ pass.

The competition will also showcase on beIN sports channels via the StarHub Sports+ offering.

The deal also comprises rights to the Kooyong Classic which will be broadcasted only on StarHub. This singles-only, exhibition tournament will be three days long and feature notable tennis players such as Casper Ruud, Andy Murray and Milos Raonic.

The local services provider recently set up two Mola-branded sports channels, Mola Sport and Mola Golf, that make-up its StarHub TV Sports+ bundles. The new sports channels are inclusive of coverage of the Carabao Cup, the English Football League Championship (EFL), the PGA Tour, and the National Football League (NFL).

The Australian Open has already begun competition and is currently ongoing, which commenced on January 8th.
