All3Media sold to Jeff Zucker’s RedBird IMI
RedBird IMI, a joint venture between RedBird
Capital Partners and International Media Investments, has made a significant
move by acquiring All3Media, one of the world’s leading independent television
production and distribution companies. The acquisition was confirmed at a value
of £1.15 billion (approximately $1.45 billion) from
its previous joint owners, Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. and Liberty Global Ltd.
All3Media, headquartered in London, boasts an
impressive portfolio of 50 production labels, including well-known names like
Studio Lambert, Raw, Two Brothers Pictures, Silverback Films, New Pictures, and
Neal Street Productions.
Their productions span a wide range of genres, from
contemporary thrillers and detective series to soap operas, comedy, costume
drama, true crime, documentaries, features, children’s shows, and reality
programming. Some of their globally recognised shows include The Traitors,
Squid Game: The Challenge, Gold Rush, Midsomer Murders, American Nightmare, The
Circle, Call the Midwife, The Tourist, Life On Our Planet, The Long Shadow,
and Gogglebox.
With a global presence across the UK, US, Germany,
the Netherlands, Belgium, and New Zealand, All3Media produces approximately
4,000 hours of content annually for linear broadcasters, video-on-demand (VOD)
platforms, social media, and other digital channels. Additionally, All3Media
International manages a distribution catalog of over 30,000 hours, while their
digital business arm, Little Dot Studios, engages audiences through social
video, podcasts, and branded content across multiple platforms.
As part of this acquisition, Jeff Zucker, CEO of
RedBird IMI, will assume the role of chairman of the All3Media board, while
Jane Turton (CEO) and Sara Geater (COO) will continue to lead the company for
RedBird IMI. The strategic move aligns with RedBird IMI’s investment thesis
focused on global content creators and intellectual property owners.
This acquisition marks a new era for both RedBird
IMI and All3Media, emphasising their ambitions in the realm of global media and
intellectual property ownership.
