The Floor continues its global journey as Talpa Studios announces the eleventh sale of its quiz show format to Türkiye.
Talpa Studios announced that Türkiye will be the
eleventh market for their popular quiz show format, The Floor. The show
will be locally produced by ATV and is set to air fourteen weekly primetime
episodes in the summer of 2024. The Floor has already achieved excellent
results in countries like the Netherlands (currently in its second season),
Spain, the USA, France, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Romania, Hungary, and
Argentina.
In Türkiye, ATV’s remarkable track record of game
show successes makes this new adaptation a promising addition to the lineup.
The show’s concept involves 100 quiz fanatics facing off in quiz duels on a
giant LED floor divided into one hundred equal squares, each representing its
own field of knowledge. The goal is to conquer the entire floor and take home a
huge cash prize.
The rules are simple: contestants challenge each
other in quiz duels, playing against each other in the category of the
opponent’s square. The categories range from ‘famous athletes’ to ‘Hollywood
actors’ and from ‘iconic buildings’ to ‘mammals’. The winner of a duel conquers
their opponent’s square, gaining more ground, while the loser leaves the game.
As the game progresses, the duels become more
exciting, and the stakes get higher. After eight episodes, the last person
standing on The Floor wins €100,000. With ATV’s strategic location near
Istanbul Airport and affordable production costs, The Floor Türkiye hub
is positioned as a strategic meeting point for international colleagues. This
expansion to Türkiye is an exciting milestone for the show.
