US - Following his December 2023 conviction for assault and harassment that lead to him being dropped by Marvel Studios, Jonathan Majors has now been sued by dancer Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend who was the victim of the incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2023 which lead to the conviction.
In New York federal court on Tuesday 19 March, Jabbari filed her suit and accused the 34-year-old of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution and defamation. The lawsuit claimed that Majors subjected Jabbori to “a pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023,” along with “verbal assaults and frightening anger,” causing “serious injuries to [Jabbari’s] body.”
Jonathan Majors, best known for playing the villain Kang the Conqueror and his variants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe between 2021 and 2023, met Jabbari in August 2021 while he was filming for Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) in London. Their relationship ended in March 2023 after the Loki (2021 - 2023) and Creed III (2023) star allegedly assaulted Jabbari in a car. Following the news of the alleged assault which broke out in early 2023, many people who had previously worked with Majors also came out to expose Majors toxic and abusive behaviour.
Majors, who recently attended the 55th NAACP Image Awards with his current girlfriend Meagan Good, is set to be sentenced on 8 April for his December 2023 conviction of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.
Prior to his conviction and Marvel Studios’ subsequent firing of him, Majors was slated to reprise his role as Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which has since been delayed to 1 May 2026 in the US and renamed to a likely placeholder title of Avengers 5.
