Superights Acquires New Children’s Animation Chasing Horrifox

The new animated children’s special, Chasing Horrifox, has been acquired by the international distribution company, Superights. By Ching Wai.

Paris - Superights, an international distribution company based in Paris, Milan, New York and Los Angeles, has acquired the rights to the new children’s television animation Chasing Horrifox. The comedic animation programme debuted on the Canal+ Kids channel on 10 February this year, and will be launched during the upcoming MIPTV from 7 to 10 April.

The programme sees the story of three little marmots, Yaya, Mo and Pic, as they try to find Horrifox and find out the ending to the bedtime story their parents were telling them before they unfortunately fell asleep. With wonderful animations and a riveting storyline, Chasing Horrifox sets out to be a unique programme. “A real breath of fresh air!” as Superights’ Deputy General Manager Nathalie Pinguet said, for children to enjoy.

Producer of Chasing Horrifox Mathieu Courtois said of the animation, “Here, there’s no Little Red Riding Hood nor Hop-o’-My-Thumb abandoned in the forest, but rather kids who are undoubtedly more modern, more difficult to impress, following their own mind, disregarding danger right down to the title Chasing Horrifox.”

The programme is co-produced by Vivement Lundi!, Nadasdy Film and Pictanovo, and is supported by Canal+, France 3 Bretagne, TVR, Tébéo, TébéSud, CNC, Région Bretagne, Région Haut-de-France, Procirep and Angoa.

Superights is a division of the SUPERPROD GROUP, and is committed to distributing children’s and family content all over the world. The company has a team that speaks multiple languages, and owns linear and non-linear rights, from traditional television and VOD platforms, to licensing & merchandising, and theatrical. It had been nominated for the Unifrance’s TV Export Award in 2022, and won the Best European Investor/Distributor of the year in 2015. Some programmes that Superights has recently acquired include Miffy, produced by StudioCanal and Superprod, and Tara Duncan, produced by Princess Sam Pictures, amongst many others.
