Chance Perdomo, 27, Passes After Motorcycle Accident

The Gen V star passed after a motorcycle accident on his way to film the series’ second season. The promising actor leaves behind a short but impactful legacy. By Ching Wai.

US - 27 year old actor Chance Perdomo has passed after a motorcycle accident. According to released statements, the accident had occurred late 29 March or early 30 March 2024 as Perdomo was travelling through Upstate New York to Toronto to begin his filming for season two of Gen V. No one else was involved in the accident. The actor had starred in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Amazon Prime’s The Boys spinoff Gen V. Filming of the second season of Gen V has since been postponed indefinitely.

Family and representatives of the British-American actor stated, “His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”

Gen V producers made a joint statement, “We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

Fellow actor Patrick Schwarzenegger posted on X (formally Twitter), “...What a young talented actor, and a great friend - gone way too soon. Was a pleasure to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance.” Co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television have issued statements remembering Perdomo as well.

Chance Perdomo had been nominated for the Best Actor Award at the British Academy Television Award in 2018. The young star was also named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow and a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Breakthrough Brit in 2019.
