Sky Italia to Retain UEFA Premier League Rights Until 2028

The UEFA Premier League will continue to air exclusively on Sky and Now in Italy, until the 2027/2028 season. By: Kritchanon Tan Kian Wei

Italy - Comcast pay TV operator Sky Italia has renewed its deal for the rights to the UEFA Premier League, allowing it to extend ownership of the rights which was set to end with the 2024/2025 season, to the 2027/2028 season.

Featuring teams like Liverpool F.C., the UEFA Premier League is an annual European football tournament.

Sky Italia will broadcast up to 10 live games each round, including matches on Monday, Friday and the weekends, live on Sky’s linear channels and its sister streaming service called Now. Additionally, pre- and post-match analysis, and the Premier League Remix highlights show will be covered as well.

Marzio Perrelli, the Sky executive VP of sport, said the following: “In recent years the Premier League has reached unrivalled standards: the quality of the players and coaches, the beauty and atmosphere of the stadiums make this tournament among the most loved by fans and football enthusiasts. And Sky Italia has accompanied this growth path, season after season. This is another important acquisition for Sky, after an extraordinarily important 2023, with many announcements that have strengthened our House of Sport even further: from European cups with the new UEFA Champions League, to Serie A, without forgetting the NBA basketball and the agreement with ATP and WTA for the broadcast of over 80 tennis tournaments per year until 2028.”

Sky Italia had previously announced in May 2023 that it would exclusively broadcast 185 of the 203 UEFA Champions League matches every season, along with 342 UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League matches for the 2024-2027 seasons.
