Netflix executive M-K Kennedy succeeds Françoise Guyonnet to be executive managing director of TV series at StudioCanal. By Ching Wai.
US - M-K Kennedy has been appointed executive managing director of TV series at StudioCanal. Françoise Guyonnet, who previously held this position, became the executive vice president of Kids Brands at the Paddington outfit. Kennedy will be based in London and report to CEO of Studiocanal Anna Marsh.
The new head of TV series at StudioCanal will establish Netflix production hubs around Europe. This will open up opportunities for the company to set up a strong foundation for its TV business in the region.
Kennedy was previously Netflix’s Europe vice-president of production for the past seven years in Amsterdam. Responsibilities included the building of production teams for local-language series across France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Nordics. Before this, Kennedy was at UCP and Universal Television for seven years in Los Angeles.
