US - Exclusive looks at highly-anticipated upcoming blockbusters like Deadpool & Wolverine, Moana 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King have been revealed recently, during Disney’s panel at CinemaCon 2024.

13 minutes of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was shown exclusively to event attendees, featuring stunning, photorealistic footage and tons of action. Afterwards, a trailer for the 2024 biographical drama film starring Daisy Ridley titled Young Woman and the Sea debuted and was subsequently released to the public.

After a lengthy 35-minute preview of Pixar’s Inside Out 2 that also saw Amy Poehler come onto stage, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige followed up with plenty of Marvel Cinematic Universe-related announcements.

A nod to the recent Dune: Part Two popcorn bucket memes, Feige first announced that Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn buckets were being designed, before revealing that The Fantastic Four begins filming in two months. He then announced that Thunderbolts would be officially renamed to Thunderbolts* (asterisk included), though he refuses to explain the title change until a later date, implying the asterisk is a spoiler. The Marvel Studios section of the panel ended with closed-door previews of Captain America: Brave New World and Deadpool & Wolverine.

Afterwards, during a Fox Searchlight segment, a scene from Alien: Romulus was screened, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ upcoming anthology film Kinds of Kindness was revealed to be heading to the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024.

Finally, the panel wrapped up with presentations on Mufasa: The Lion King, the upcoming prequel to 2019’s The Lion King, and on Moana 2, with Barry Jenkins and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson making special appearances to promote their respective films. Previews of both blockbusters were shown, and it was revealed that the trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King would be publicly revealed in the coming weeks.
