US - Paramount has surprised CinemaCon attendees with plenty of IP-driven announcements like a fourth Spongebob movie and an animated Avatar: The Last Airbender trilogy.

After an impressive opening with Roman soldiers to promote Gladiator II, The Office star John Krasinski showed up to discuss A Quiet Place Place Part III, before showing a trailer for IF, a film directed by Krasinski. Afterwards, Paramount announced they would be making The Running Man, a film starring Glen Powell and directed by Edgar Wright. Additionally, Ridley Scott would be directing a movie based on the Bee Gees, a musical group.

Paramount also confirmed during the event, a Transformers and G.I. Joe teamup film that will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Paramount also announced that filmmaker Damien Chazelle (Whiplash, La La Land, Babylon) will film his next film this year, with a 2025 release.

Next, Paramount teased the eighth Mission: Impossible film, though no footage was shown. The still-untitled film cruises into US theatres May 23 2025.

New footage of the September 2024 animated film Transformers One, which details how Optimus Prime and Megatron went from allies to enemies, soon followed. Scarlett Johansson recorded a video introduction to the title, while Chris Hemsworth appeared on stage. More news on animated films followed, with an Avatar trilogy Aang: The Last Airbender following adult Aang and starring Eric Nam with Dave Bautista, a fourth Spongebob film The Spongebob Movie: Search for SquarePants, and a Smurfs movie starring Rihanna and James Corden. Though not announced at the panel, an R-rated live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin film was also confirmed on April 11.

The panel ended with exclusive looks at A Quiet Place: Day One, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Smile 2, and Gladiator 2, wrapping up an extremely eventful showing by Paramount.
