a beloved star of the popular television show Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition, has tragically passed away at the age of 58. Xol, who was known
for his warm personality and design expertise, died on September 20, 2024,
following injuries sustained from a stabbing incident in Palm Springs,
California.
The incident
occurred on September 10, 2024, when Xol called the Palm Springs Police
Department early in the morning, reporting that he had been assaulted. Upon
arrival, officers found Xol with multiple stab wounds and immediately
transported him to Desert Regional Medical Centre. Despite medical efforts, Xol
succumbed to his injuries ten days later.

The suspect
in the stabbing, identified as Richard Joseph Gonzales, was arrested shortly
after the incident. Gonzales had initially called the police claiming to have
been assaulted the previous night. Following an investigation, he was charged
with attempted murder, and after Xol’s death, the charges were upgraded to
murder.
Xol’s family
released a heartfelt statement expressing their grief and requesting privacy
during this difficult time. They highlighted Eduardo’s kindness and the
positive impact he had on many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked
for donations to be made in his name to the Lupus Foundation of America,
reflecting Xol’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
