MIPFORMAT: Global Agency to premiere in Vietnam

Global Agency's singing format Blind Duets makes its debut in Asia with a Vietnamese production deal.

Global Agency announces that their ground-breaking show “Blind Duets” will be on air in Vietnam soon. The show will be produced by MEGA GS Communications and broadcasted by Vinh Long TV. The first season will have 13 episodes. The show will be hosted by the singer and actor Bach Cong Khanh, with celebrity juries on board. The first episode will be aired in May 6.

The innovative “Blind Duets”, which was created by Gila Kantar and Izzet Pinto, brings four celebrity singers in the jury together to perform with 12 contestants in a primetime game show filled with surprises, talent, and entertaining rivalry between the star performers.

This primetime contest features key elements of surprise, all set in a dazzling studio. The identities of the contestants, hidden in cabinets in a dazzling studio, are only revealed when a jury member chooses them, and each one emerges to perform on stage with the celebrity. Each jury member sings three songs with the contestants and the highest-scoring celebrity summons their partners to perform as a trio to decide the overall winner. The excitement and tension create a show in which viewers enjoy not just the singing but also the rivalry between the jury members.

Izzet Pinto, CEO of Global Agency, said, “I am very happy that our format will come to life in a powerful country like Vietnam. Vietnam has always been home to shiny floor formats in the past. One of our singing show “Remix” has also had its world premiere in Vietnam and later on it became an International Emmy nominated project so I believe that Vietnam is the right country to kick start the franchise.

About Blind Duets:

The innovative “Blind Duets” brings four celebrity singers in the jury together to perform with 12 contestants in a show highlighting talent, star quality and rivalry between those performing. In a dazzling studio featuring 12 multi-coloured cabinets, contestants' identities are only revealed as they emerge to perform.

After contestants reveal details of their lives and dreams, they sing a chosen song briefly to give the jury a sense of their voice. Jury members then choose a contestant to join them in a duet. They must be ready to perform any of 12 songs on a playlist before the orchestra starts to play the selected song.

Before the chosen cabinet opens, the jury member begins singing and the contestant emerges, descending a staircase to the stage to complete the duet together. The audience then votes on their performance and the contestant withdraws to wait nervously for the results in a room off stage.
