Description

John Kramer seems to have revived from the dead in Saw X, but rest assured, this is instead just an untold story from his past. Set only weeks after the first Saw movie and before Saw II. He is still dying, just not dead yet. Hence he has the free will to exact his form of therapy on his victims.

The story being told in such a way is a wise move as new audiences do not have to catch up on all the Saw movies to keep themselves updated on the convoluted timeline. Critics and fans have highly praised the film as this is deemed as the most effective Saw sequel to date.

Kramer has been given a prognosis revealing that he has a few months more to live due to his cancer. Upon learning about a secret treatment involving surgery and experimental drugs in Mexico, he undergoes the procedure to briefly appear cured. However, soon after he realised that the treatment was a scam. Now Kramer is set off to have his vengeance exacted to the ones who scammed him.

The Saw series has gotten more elaborate with their trips, Saw X tones down to the more lo-fi charms of the first 2 movies. The large-scale traps of the later sequels might have increased the gore, however they also lessened the impact.

Though Saw X’s trap might not be as prominent as the needle trap or the reverse bear trap, the efforts are all of the same calibre. Ranging from amateur brain surgeries to arm bombs, they are effective against the recent sequels and possess what it takes to satisfy every gorehound.
