Downfall is a compelling and thought-provoking series that unveils the hidden truths behind the corridors of power, that will leave you questioning politics and the pursuit of influence.
Story: In Downfall, the former minister Álvaro Vieira Branco finds himself under investigation for various crimes. Placed under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, Branco must adapt his strategies to meet the financial demands of those around him while trying to get rid of the case, discover the identity of the whistle-blower, and maintain his influence. With the support of his loyal lawyer, David Rebelo Morais, and trusted foreman, Zé Mário, Branco navigates the delicate balance of power from within the confines of his luxurious mansion. Meanwhile, his family is also caught in the turmoil, as his wife Raquel struggles with her husband's lack of values, and their children, Frederico and Matilde, confront their father's actions. As Branco grapples with blocked bank accounts, he discovers that money, the ultimate source of power, may also be his biggest obstacle.
