The BBC First brand premiered in Czech Republic and Slovakia as an SVOD collection via T-Mobile and Slovak Telekom in November 2023, but this will be the first time the brand will be available as a linear channel in these countries, according to BBC Studios. By: K Dass.
UK - BBC First, the premium drama channel from BBC
Studios, is making its debut in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As of June 3,
2024, viewers in these countries can enjoy captivating British drama content on
this channel.
BBC First has secured
carriage agreements with the largest telecommunications operators in both
countries. In the Czech Republic, it will be available through T-Mobile and O2.
In Slovakia, viewers can access it via Slovak Telekom.
BBC First promises to
offer new and unforgettable stories and characters. Six Four a
critically acclaimed four-part thriller starring Kevin McKidd from Grey’s
Anatomy. The show delves into themes of kidnap, corruption, and betrayal
when a police detective’s daughter goes missing.
Maigret, this series features Rowan Atkinson as the legendary
French detective Jules Maigret, and BBC First will air seasons one and two of
this intriguing drama.
BBC First will be
fully localised with Czech subtitles for T-Mobile and O2 subscribers in the
Czech Republic and Slovak Telekom subscribers in Slovakia.
This expansion marks
an exciting milestone for BBC First, and it joins BBC Earth and BBC News as
part of the BBC Studios portfolio available in both countries.
