Seoul International Drama Awards 2024
Globally recognized drama directors, screenwriters, actors, actresses, singers, and Asian stars will take the stage together on September 25th.
Korea - Directors who have garnered
global attention will take the stage as award winners, including Park
Chan-wook, who is selected for Golden Bird Prize for ‘The Sympathizer’(HBO),
Derek Tsang, director of ‘3 Body Problem’(Netflix), who is well-known in
Korea for his role as ‘Johnny’ in the movie ‘The Thieves’, and
Park In-je, who wins both Best Director Award in International Competition and
Outstanding Korean Drama for ‘Moving’(Disney+). Additionally, Kamila Andini,
director of ‘Cigarette Girl’(Netflix), who won Silver Bear at Berlin
International Film Festival, will also take the stage. David Benioff and D.B.
Weiss, producers of ‘Game of Thrones’, as well as Alexander Woo,
producer of ‘True Blood’, will also attend to receive Best Screenwriter
award for ‘3 Body Problem’(Netflix). The producer of ‘Another Love’(Tims
& B Productions/Global Agency), Selin Arat will also receive Best Series
Award at the stage.
Actor Song Kang-ho, who wins Best Actor Award in
International Competition for his first drama ‘Uncle Samsik’(Disney+),
and Park Chan-wook who won awards at Cannes Film Festival will also attend the
stage. ‘Mask Girl’(Netflix) stars Yeom Hye-ran and Ahn Jae-hong, who won
Best Actor and Actress Award in K-Drama Competition. Actress Kim Hye-yoon, who
garnered over 6.2 million fan votes from all over the world, will also walk the
purple carpet. Notably, Hoa Xuande, who played a dual spy role in HBO original
series ‘The Sympathizer’(HBO) and elevated the show's quality with his
flawless performance, will visit Korea to congratulate Park Chan-wook on his
award and share the stage with him. Additionally, BSS will receive Outstanding
Korean Drama O.S.T for ‘The Queen of Tears’(Studio Dragon) and greet
fans directly from the stage.
Celebrities from five Asian countries will also attend
the ceremony. Top Asian stars, including Metawin Opas-iamkajorn from Thailand,
Kim Chiu from the Philippines, Siti Saleha from Malaysia, and Desmond Tan from
Singapore will gather in one place to grace the event. Nakajima Keisuke, the
executive producer of the Japanese drama ‘Eye Love You’(TBS), which made
the ‘Hyop-sama’ syndrome in Japan, and producer Cha Hyun-ji will also
visit Korea.
The lineup of award presenters is also announced.
Actors Kim Dong-jun, Oh Na-ra, Yoon Gai, Yoon Bo-mi, Jo Han-chul, Min Woo-hyuk,
Lee Mi-do, Park Ji-hyun, Kim Bo-ra, Choi Hyun-wook, and Choi Daniel will take
the stage as award presenters. Notably, Minister of Culture, Sports, and
Tourism Yu In-chon and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will also serve as award
presenters to support the development of the drama industry. Additionally,
K-POP Singers ZEROBASEONE, NMIXX, and N.Flying's Yoo Hwe-seung will perform
special stages.
Seoul International Drama Awards 2024, hosted by Bae
Sung-jae and actress Seol In-a, will take place on September 25th (Wed) at 5
p.m. at KBS Hall. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and
Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS and CBS, will take
place on September 25th(Wed) at KBS Hall. It will be broadcast live on SBS TV
and through SDA official Youtube channel as well. Also, ‘Purple Carpet’ event
will be held before the ceremony, featuring the award winners, award presenters,
and other celebrities.
