The series offers an inside look at all the issues relevant to Gen Z life.
Be-Entertainment picks up the new factual reality
format, ‘The Landlady’ (local title: Kotmadam Sarafian) that has made a
remarkable entrance on VTM in Belgium in the past weeks. After airing three
prime time episodes, this engaging reality series has captured the hearts of
the viewers as well as an impressive 39.9% market share (18-44, consolidated).
This marks a significant increase of +64% compared to the channel’s average
market share.
In ‘The Landlady’, a charismatic celebrity with
a wealth of life experience welcomes seven students under her roof for an
entire academic year. She guides them through the relatable whirlwind of
heartache, exam stress, growing pains, and numerous celebrations. Will she become
a strict maternal figure or a warm friend? The series offers an inside look at
all the issues relevant to Gen Z life.
The Landlady is created
and produced by Borgerhoff & Lamberigts. Be-Entertainment holds the
international distribution rights says Be-Entertainment MD Gepke Nederlof:
“We’re excited to share ‘The Landlady’ with the world. A reality show
with students always felt like an interesting arena, but seems more relevant
now than it ever was with so many students struggling. Introducing a celebrity
landlady proves to be the perfect way to tell their story with all their
challenges, but also the fun they’re having together. All the perfect
ingredients to get the viewers hooked to the series as we can clearly see in
the amazing results.”
