Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi to Star in Wuthering Heights Adaptation
Two of Australia’s most in-demand acting exports are reportedly gearing up to star opposite each other in a new adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights, to be directed by Emerald Fennell.

Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to star in Emerald Fennell’s highly anticipated
adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, Wuthering Heights. This
project marks the third collaboration between Fennell and Robbie’s production
company, LuckyChap, following the success of Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.
Robbie, an Academy Award nominee, will take on the
role of Catherine Earnshaw, while Elordi, known for his roles in Euphoria
and Priscilla, will portray the brooding Heathcliff. The casting of
these two prominent actors has generated significant buzz, given their rising
profiles in Hollywood. Robbie’s recent success with the Barbie movie,
which grossed over $1.4 billion and earned multiple Oscar nominations, has
solidified her status as a powerhouse in the industry. Elordi, meanwhile,
continues to build his reputation with critically acclaimed performances.
Emerald Fennell, who won an Oscar for Best Original
Screenplay for Promising Young Woman, will write, direct, and produce
this adaptation. Fennell’s unique storytelling style and ability to delve into
complex characters make her an exciting choice for this project. Her previous
works have been praised for their sharp wit and dark humor, elements that could
bring a fresh perspective to Brontë’s intense and tragic love story.
Wuthering Heights is currently
in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin in the UK in 202512. The
film will explore the tumultuous relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff,
set against the moody and atmospheric backdrop of the Yorkshire moors.
Fennell’s adaptation is expected to stay true to the novel’s themes of passion,
revenge, and the destructive nature of love, while also infusing it with her
distinctive directorial flair.
This project not only reunites Fennell with Elordi but
also brings Robbie in front of the camera for one of Fennell’s films for the
