Zee Plus Veteran Sunita Uchil Relinquishes her Position

After a long career spanning 15 years, the chief business officer and head of international co-productions at Zee Plus in India has made the decision to step down from her position. Being the co-production and development wing of India’s Zee Entertainment, Zee Plus is the production hub for projects such as wildlife docuseries The Lion’s Last Roar, which will serve as Uchil’s final project with the company.

Uchil’s career endeavours saw her serving as the executive producer of Life of Earth: From Space, co-producing Deceptive Measures, and overseeing the ZEE and TelevisaUnivision co-production of culinary travelogue series The Spice Trails.

Beyond her work with Zee Plus, Uchil has established herself as a prominent figure in the global television industry. She served as a FRAPA board member and as a judge on award shows such as the International Emmys, the Rose d’Or, World Trailer Awards and TBI’s Content Innovation Awards.

Uchil is said to be stepping down from her position in pursuit of her interests outside of the organisation.

“Sunita has successfully helmed the international ad sales, syndication and co-production units for the company’s international business over the years, strengthening ZEE’s connect with the Indian diaspora across the globe,” said a Zee spokesperson.
