Head of Entertainment Stephen Tate Bids Farewell to Paramount

Stephen Tate, the esteemed head of entertainment and factual programming at Paramount Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), is set to conclude his significant tenure on September 1, marking the end of a remarkable journey spanning more than twenty years within the company.

Tate's legacy is undeniably impressive, having been the driving force behind some of Network 10's most triumphant franchises. Notable successes include the likes of Australian Idol, Big Brother, Australian Survivor, The Bachelor Australia, and The Masked Singer Australia. Additionally, he has skilfully managed titles such as Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation, Rove Live, and Todd Sampson’s Body Hack.

His influence extended to managing Network 10's offerings of The Amazing Race Australia and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, showcasing his versatility in diverse content creation. Tate's portfolio further encompassed live event programming, overseeing esteemed ceremonies such as the AACTA and ARIA Awards.

Beverley McGarvey, the executive VP and chief content officer and head of Paramount+ at Paramount ANZ, expressed the profound impact Tate's departure would have on the team, acknowledging his unwavering dedication and creative fervour over the course of two decades. She praised his role not only as an exceptional executive producer but also as a talent scout responsible for introducing numerous household names to their iconic shows. McGarvey extended her well wishes for his future endeavours, highlighting his irreplaceable enthusiasm that will be deeply missed.

In response, Tate conveyed his gratitude for the remarkable experiences he garnered during his time at Network 10 and subsequently Paramount ANZ. He spoke fondly of the privilege he felt in tackling creative challenges while cultivating enduring friendships within the organization and the broader Australian production community.
