TAICCA and CNC Collaborate for more Creative Content

To improve audiovisual trades and connections between Taiwan and France, Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and Centre National du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC) in France announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in November. By: Dylan Low

The agreement was endorsed by CNC President Dominique Boutonnat and TAICCA Chairperson Homme Tsai at Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF), to acknowledge a long-term partnership in cultural content industries on a national level. During the TCCF closing ceremony, both organisations will also present TAICCA X CNC AWARD with a US$30,000 cash prize.

The parties signed a MOU which ensures freedom of expression and distribution, ensures that they are committed to industry support, international co-production and distribution between Taiwan and France, and wider international influences in cultural content.

Bureau Français de Taipei Director Franck Paris mentioned that the French and the Taiwanese are undivided by the same idea of cultural exception and diversity, and by the conviction that their relationship could help them both to remain at the forefront of the cultural and creative industries, which is their common goal.

CNC President Dominique Boutonnat emphasised that this MOU is the result of a highly constructive conversation between CNC and TAICCA. Taiwan is now a key associate in Asia, and TAICCA has become major partners for French creation. France and Taiwan have their own narratives and uniqueness, and through an independent voice, enabled by the preservation of intellectual property, that their works must convey this.

Creative freedom and diversity were shared values between Taiwan and France, stated TAICCA Chairperson Homme Tsai. Based on this opinion, both sides built a special bond. The MOU was an agreement between TAICCA and CNC to broaden possible audiovisual collaborations between Taiwan and France. This helped improve industrial development and offer outstanding work by professionals.

Through this MOU, TAICCA and CNC will work together in four areas. For their emerging talent, both parties will brainstorm methods to help young authors and promote audiovisual professionals on mutual understanding. For "creative freedom", both parties understand human rights as the cornerstone of creation and will use ways to highlight the importance of freedom of expression and distribution.
